Jamile Marques participated by sharing the national vision of ABES

ABES' director of innovation, Jamile Sabatini Marques, participated on March 26, at Firjan's headquarters, in Rio de Janeiro, in a round table with the main institutions that support the ICT sector. The purpose of the event was to discuss current actions in order to identify gaps in action and partnership opportunities that are synergistic with the mission of the Firjan system.

According to Jamile, the idea was to get to know the performance of each of the partners, how they see Firjan in the innovation processes and how it can favor the development of the technological sector. “It was important to contribute to ABES's national vision, favoring institutions and companies that intend to act with innovation and promotion, integrating industry with ICT”, he evaluates.

Firjan's initiative is part of the Creative Industry project, which aims to make the classic industry perceive creative intelligence as an asset that generates competitiveness for companies and that they appropriate this asset. “On the Development Map, entrepreneurs from the state of Rio de Janeiro pointed out as a strategic action for 2006-2015 the development of an industry where the most valuable products are ideas and meanings generated by imagination, with strong creative content.

The Creative Industry was identified as one of the fastest growing in the world and creative intelligence is a transforming force”, explains Ana Hofmann, advisor to the superintendence of the Firjan System and responsible for the development of the ICT sector in the state of Rio de Janeiro.

Ana points out that the Firjan System recognizes the ICT sector as a lever for the development of all sectors of the industry, which justifies the creation of a development support plan for the sector, in which it is intended to determine actions that are complementary to those already developed by institutions that already work with technology. “The invited institutions offered us their views on partnership and work opportunities. These are data and contributions that we consider precious inputs for the construction of the plan we are working on”.

“It became clear during the meeting that there is a huge need to structure actions in support of the integration of innovation and research centers into the ICT solutions provider market, as well as a gap in training the workforce”, says Ana, who also mentions the need for a partnership to defend the sector's interests in relation to the legislative agenda and also in the relationship between the consumer market and the ICT supplier in the state.

“As the next steps related to the project we will have a meeting with ICT entrepreneurs on April 16th and all this data collected will serve as a inputs for the definition of new products and services to be offered by the Firjan System to the ICT sector in the state of Rio de Janeiro”, he concludes.
