In the presentation on “Banking, Finance and ERP: the merger of several worlds in the Cloud”, Marcelo Lombardo, CEO and founder of Omie, highlighted that a cloud management platform can be seen as the basic operating system of every company that wants to operate remotely, betting on the mobility of your team and also your business. “This crisis is pushing many people who were leaning towards digitalization, individuals who did not accept buying through e-commerce, now, they are buying. So, I think we will have a much more digitalized world after the pandemic, the world will be much more digital ”, he evaluated.
The executive also highlighted the trend of convergence of several digital platforms on a single platform that will control all the company's transactions, such as issuing notes, stock control, issuing bills and cash flows, facilitating processes, expanding the level automation of transactions and improving management. This convergence will demand changes in the form of software development, which will depend on paradigm changes to make this convergence feasible.
New culture for a more balanced home office
Mariana Hatsumura, Director of the Modern Workplace area at Microsoft, spoke about “Technology and Remote Work”. She commented that at Microsoft there was already a culture of remote work supported by the technological apparatus. “But, we never thought of such a scenario of forced isolation, which is our main challenge. We see, then, that technology is only a part of all of this ”, he explained.
In a scenario of 100% isolation, without the option of going to the office or talking to co-workers on the coffee break, it was necessary to review policies and establish actions to reduce anxiety, doubts, interaction between members teams, even from a distance, and also review the work agenda that needs to be aligned with domestic activities. “Basically, technology is just an enabler. We see that the success of all this is in people adopting technology, adopting new behaviors made possible by changes in the company's culture ”.
Mariana also commented that the Microsoft Teams solution had a very big explosion of use, both in the platform for computers as well as in the mobile version, especially in sectors such as education and government.
Urgent migration to the cloud
“How the cloud was decisive to support teleworking and operations at this time” was the topic addressed by Lauro de Lauro, Cloud Guru Senior at Sky.One Cloud Solutions and Director of ABES. He spoke about the challenge they had at Sky.One of service support for companies that worked with legacy systems, that operated with “servers installed in a cool room” and that had to move the ERP to the cloud for an hour to other. That is, the migration to the cloud came without much planning. “We are helping clients with budget adjustments, making negotiations and, fortunately, the cloud infrastructure and internet connection in Brazil managed to withstand this explosion. It's a culture change, a lot of learning. We live in a new business and technology adoption reality ”, he concluded.
