Finep has just launched the first public notice for the Innovative Women Programs, created to encourage startups led by women, in order to contribute to the increase of female representation in the national entrepreneurial scenario, through training and recognition of ventures that can favor the increase of Brazilian competitiveness.

The program is an activity resulting from the Technical Cooperation Agreement signed between the Ministry of Science, Technology, Innovations and Telecommunications (MCTIC), Finep and the city hall of São Paulo, which aims to support female entrepreneurship, seeking to use the institutions' experience in formulating policies, coordinating programs and providing resources to support innovative and technology-based start-ups.

The Program will initially feature an immersive event, to be held on March 12, with content related to female entrepreneurship presented by speakers, executives and experts on the subject. After the proposal submission period ends, which ends on March 16, Finep will select 20 startups led by women to receive a 30-day acceleration program, after which up to five startups will be selected to receive an award of R$ 100 thousand each, according to criteria established in the public notice.

Brazilian companies can apply for the Award – that is, those based in Brazil and established in accordance with national legislation, which meet the requirements detailed in notice.

The program will also have the support of partnerships engaged in leveraging female participation in entrepreneurship, such as Sebrae Nacional and RME – Rede Mulher Empreendedora.
