Finep/MCTI has just launched the Business Finep 2030 Program, a joint action by the financing company with the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI) and the Ministry of Economy (ME), aimed at the development of innovative projects in the sector's chain automotive. R$ 90 million will be available, in up to four years, of non-refundable resources for companies of any size.

Finep 2030 Empresarial will support projects that include the development of innovative products, processes and services for the automotive chain, considered strategic within the scope of the Route 2030 Program – Mobility and Logistics – of the Federal Government.

There are four thematic lines:

1 – Innovation in processes, including automation, industrial connectivity and advanced manufacturing to increase productivity, in the supply chain in the automotive sector;

2 – Investments in research, development and innovation in the supply chain in the automotive sector;

3 – Strengthening of the tooling and molds chain for the automotive production chain; and

4 – Stimulus for the production of new technologies related to biofuels, vehicle safety and alternative propulsion to combustion.

Much agility and less bureaucracy

In addition to offering non-refundable resources, the new Program will be made available in a continuous flow, that is, it will not depend on public notices. And, during the evaluation process, if a company does not have its project approved, it can send a new proposal. The proposal analysis methodology will be more agile, which will significantly reduce the time between submission and approval to around 45 days. The entire process of monitoring projects and disbursing resources to companies will be simplified.

Companies of all sizes

Any Brazilian company may participate, up to a maximum limit of R$ 3 million per proposal. Medium and large companies must present a proportional counterpart. Those with annual sales of up to R$ 90 million are free of counterpart. The term of execution of the project must be up to 36 months, its extension allowed under the terms of the contract.

"We are convinced that the Finep 2030 Empresarial program will decisively support the transformation of the national automotive industry. The offer of non-refundable resources to Brazilian companies will undoubtedly contribute to the context of the automotive sector to achieve its strategic objectives such as continuous technological development, investments in automotive engineering, adaptation of vehicles to new trends, as well as environmental and safety requirements," says Finep's Innovation Director, Alberto Dantas.
