Brazilian solution developed in partnership with the Federal University of Santa Catarina is used by the STJ and stands out for its understanding of regionalisms and accent variations

Companies and organizations increasingly adopt the transcription of audio and videos and the reasons are varied, ranging from accessibility for people with hearing impairments, simplification of the process of locating information, content analysis, optimization of search engines on the internet and even to correspond to corporate governance processes, facilitating the recording of minutes of assemblies and meetings. An example of a transcription platform is Retext, launched in 2019 by Dígitro Tecnologia and accessible to any person or company. The solution operates on a client-server model, where users download a desktop application to submit audios and videos and then receive the transcribed texts. Recently, Dígitro started to provide an API for the tool, enabling sales channels, companies software and IT departments incorporate the technology into their solutions, which automates transcription and enables a gain of 70% in productivity.

Aimed at the B2B market, according to Valdir Antônio Luiz Júnior, Product Manager at Dígitro, by directly integrating the Retextoar API into pre-existing systems, it is no longer necessary for a person to manually transfer audio to platforms, eliminating steps and streamlining processes.

Another advantage of the Retextoar API is the transcription engine, which was trained using audio from all regions of the country, which gives it an advantage in understanding regionalisms, accent variations and language defects. “Being a national 100% tool, the company was concerned with solving a genuinely Brazilian need, which is understanding the different forms of expression in each region of the country”, reports the Product Manager.

Recommended for companies from the most diverse sectors, including media, advertising, journalism, legal and researchers, the update serves public bodies and entities that deal with manual processes, such as the Superior Court of Justice (STJ) and the Military Public Ministry ( MPM) from Brasília, current users of Retextoar. Private companies like Kenta also use the platform combined with their technologies to perform transcriptions. The company provides solutions for recording sessions at the Legislative Assembly of Rio Grande do Sul and Bahia and, once the videos are completed, the respective transcriptions are made and archived.

According to Vanessa Weber, Commercial Coordinator at Kenta, the integration of Retextoar API with the Assembly session recording solution was crucial to the productivity gain needed by the public body. “At a time when the team of public servants is increasingly reduced, having technology that promotes more agile delivery makes all the difference” explains Vanessa.

Developed in Brazil by Dígitro Tecnologia, in partnership with the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC), the Retextoar API has continuous support in close collaboration with users, optimizing the solution based on feedback and customized demands.
