Fapesp and the Financier of Studies and Projects (Finep) announce the launch of a call for proposals for innovative research applied to the development of technologies, inputs, products, services and processes in the health area.

Micro-enterprises, small companies and small Brazilian companies, headquartered in the State of São Paulo, incorporated and active at least twelve months before the launch of the public notice are eligible as bidders.

This call is launched within the scope of the cooperation agreement between FAPESP and Finep to support research in science and technology as a mechanism to develop technological innovation, increase the competitiveness of companies, increase the contribution of technological research to economic and social development, encourage expansion of private investment and its densification in technological research by entrepreneurs from São Paulo.

Budget resources from Fapesp and economic subsidy (non-refundable resources) will be used via MCTI/Finep/FNDCT.

This call offers resources to companies that have already conducted research that resulted in new technologies, processes or innovative products within the scope of projects financed by PIPE Phase 1, Phase 2 or equivalent projects conducted with their own resources or from other sources.

Proposals will initially be analyzed for classification and must follow the rules of the Innovative Research in Small Businesses Program (PIPE), unless otherwise specified in the call for proposals.

FAPESP is especially interested in proposals that respond to the following technological challenges: nucleotide synthesis (DNA and RNA); synthesis, production and purification of enzymes, peptides, antibodies and recombinant proteins; production and maintenance of cells in culture and laboratory animals; bioinformatics and use of “open-access” information from biological databases; diagnostic kits; and biosimilars.

Proposals must be submitted by Fapesp's Management Support System (SAGe): www.fapesp.br/sage.

The deadline for submitting proposals is March 16, 2018.
