PIPE registrations are open until August 1

A call for proposals to support technological research in micro and small companies in the State of São Paulo is open until August 1, with a total value of R$ 15 million, made available by the FAPESP Innovative Research in Small Companies Program (PIPE).

Research projects will be financed in all areas of knowledge, aimed at the development of products, processes and services. To obtain support, the approved scientific and/or technological research must be carried out in micro and small companies, with up to 250 employees, based in the State of São Paulo.

The selected research projects must be developed by researchers who have an employment relationship with the proposing companies or who are associated with them for their realization.

Another important feature of the PIPE is that the researcher in charge must demonstrate knowledge and technical competence in the project's theme, but does not need to present any formal title, either undergraduate or graduate.

Proposals can be developed in two stages. First, it is necessary to demonstrate the technological feasibility of the proposed product or process. This is called Phase 1, for which the resources for approved projects reach R$ 200 thousand, for use in up to 9 months. In the so-called Phase 2, the project can receive up to R$ 1 million to develop the innovative product or process, with a term of up to 24 months.

Projects can be registered in any of the phases of the Program, exclusively electronically, through the Management Support System (SAGe), on the FAPESP website. Until the deadline of August 1st, proposals can be corrected and resubmitted for analysis in this 3rd Cycle, which will have the result of the approved projects released on November 30, 2016.
