Wine e-commerce opts for Senior's WMS as a way to support the accelerated growth of the business

The expressive growth of operations led the Evino wine e-commerce to invest in Senior's WMS (Warehouse Management System), a company specialized in offering software for business, people, logistics, customer relationship and access control management. . The objective was to professionalize the logistics processes to improve customer service, with more agility in deliveries, and increase the productivity of operations.

The project to modernize the logistics solution was born in mid-2016, when Evino identified the need to have a Storage Management System that would support the expansion of operations. “We needed a solution with a scale perspective, service to multiple DCs (Distribution Centers), more accurate fiscal, accounting and inventory control, rigor and reliability in the recording of information, without counting on the intelligence itself embedded in the system”, he says. Ari Gorenstein, Partner at Evino.

The executive says that, until then, the company used an Access Storage Management system, developed in-house by an external programmer in partnership with the Evino team. And, although the solution met the needs of the operation, it required adjustments and customizations.

Senior's WMS implementation was carried out after the two Evino partners, Ari Gorenstein and Marcos Leal, analyzed market players and visited some companies that were already using the system. The three main factors of choice were the reliability of the system, its robustness and scalability.

Senior's solution implementation project was divided into two stages. In the first phase, which began in the second half of 2016, the focus was on ensuring the scalability of operations. “We knew that our system would even support Black Friday 2016, but it would certainly not be a match for the expected turnover of goods for the same period in 2017. With Senior's solution, we are confident to scale our business even further, multiply our DC as new demands and have more rigidity in the control of our entire warehouse management process”, details Gorenstein.

The next step of the project is to adopt innovative technologies for logistics management, mainly with the aim of improving curation processes and the customers' shopping experience. “WMS will never be synonymous with a bottleneck for us. We still have some adjustments to make to the solution, in terms of usability and customizations according to our particularities, but we envision a future with many new features”, highlights Gorenstein, believing that the company's growth is a reflection of investments in quality, service and good prices. . “We are constantly renewing, seeking to further improve our curation processes and the customer's shopping experience. Technology, precisely because it remains in the background and is not perceived by the customer, is what has to generate more reliability”, reinforces the executive.

In this sense, Evino is already studying the incorporation of two WMS technologies: Picking by Voice, a voice command application aimed at the separation and distribution of materials; and the Pick by Light and Put to Light, which allows identifying the exact position of items inside the Distribution Center, through light indications.

“We have made investments to innovate and offer customers the most advanced solutions for logistics management. Projects like Evino's reinforce our commitment to helping customers increase operational efficiency and productivity through the use of WMS,” says Anderson Benetti, Senior Product Logistics Manager.
