Applications for the 2014 edition of the Finep Award are open until August 7th. This year, R$ 100,000 to R$ 500,000 will be distributed to the first regional and national places in each category, totaling around R$ 8 million. The three finalists in the Large Company category will receive cash prizes in addition to the trophy. Added to the values of the regional stage, the total this year will be around R$ 8 million in prizes.
In this 17th edition of the Award, eight categories will be contemplated, six regional and two national: Regional – Micro and Small Enterprises, Medium Enterprises, Science and Technology Institution, Social Technology, Innovative Inventor and Sustainable Innovation; Nationals – Assistive Technology and Large Company. The first regional winners in each category also compete in the national final. In 2014, in addition to Large Company, the Assistive Technology category is also awarded in the first, second and third places.
The Finep Award is an important instrument for encouraging and recognizing innovation in the country. Since 1998, it has awarded companies, institutions and individuals, being responsible for the projection of the winners not only in Brazil, but also abroad.
