Ericsson signed a mutual cooperation project with the Brazilian Government, through the Ministry of Communications, which led to the installation of a laboratory focused on Internet of Things (IoT) solutions, located in Indaiatuba (SP). The space will develop innovative proof-of-concept projects for the connected society in Brazil.

The laboratory will facilitate government cooperation with companies, universities, suppliers and development agencies to create integrated solutions that generate social benefits for the Brazilian population, both in urban and rural areas. According to the company, this projection takes into account the goals established by the United Nations (UN), which include zero hunger, access to clean water and sanitation, promotion of sustainable cities and communities and monitoring of climate change.

According to Ericsson's Director of Innovation, Edvaldo Santos, the company follows the national technological evolution and the 90's marked the development of products based on innovation. "I extol the government's attitude of investing in the universalization of knowledge. The incentives were fundamental for the company to go beyond the results within the country", he reported. "Brazilian researchers are innovative, creative, results-oriented. They are an example for the rest of the world," he added.
