Equinix, a global data center interconnection company, announces the acquisition of Nimbo, a North American company focused on advising companies in the development and implementation of IT architectures in hybrid clouds. The acquisition reinforces Equinix's strategy to strengthen its cloud services and assist its customers in data center migration, WAN optimization and building flexible, high-performance hybrid cloud solutions.

In Brazil, Equinix acquired part of Alog in 2011 and completed the purchase in July 2014. One of the main operators of IT services in the country, Alog has four data centers – two in Rio de Janeiro, one in Tamboré and another in Sao Paulo.

With AWS certification and partnership with Microsoft Azure, Nimbo recently reached the 480th position in the 2014 ranking of the 500 fastest growing private companies in America.

“Nimbo has a successful track record of advising many of the Fortune 100 companies, with awards for their growth and innovation in the field. The purchase expanded our ability to help customers benefit from our cloud density and Cloud Exchange value propositions, as well as assist in the design and deployment of hybrid cloud solutions,” said Pete Hayes, Chief Commercial Officer at Equinix.
