Fintech will select up to 10 high-impact startups

EqSeed, a platform that connects startups to investors, is selecting startups interested in participating in individual investment rounds to raise between R$ 300 thousand and R$ 2 million each in the second half of 2018. Up to ten startups will be chosen and applications must be made by the 13th of May through the website www.eqseed.com/captar. The platform expects about a thousand companies to apply for the selection process.

With regard to the profile of potentially selectable companies, Greg Kelly, founding partner of fintech Eqseed, explains that the platform is looking for startups with a ready-made product or service and traction in their markets. “We look for scalability and disruption in business models, which are the foundations of startups that tend to become the next large companies in the medium and long term. We will also evaluate in detail the team, its business plan and reachable market, in addition to a due diligence, verifying that the company has no pending issues or debts. Startups from any sector that meet the prerequisites of the process can compete”, he explains.

Fast-growing investments

EqSeed is experiencing intense growth, especially after becoming the first startup investment platform approved by the Securities and Exchange Commission in January of this year. Among other indicators, the company surpassed the mark of R$ 5 million invested and registered growth of 20% in its investor base only in 2018, a base that currently has more than 12 thousand corporate and individual investors. The average ticket of investors on the platform exceeded R$ 11 thousand in all rounds in the last 12 months.

The last selection process, from the first half of 2018, has already confirmed 7 investment rounds, 3 of which have already been launched (Allugator, Housed and DinDin) and another 4 are yet to start in the first half. Now, the company is looking for up to 10 startups for rounds in the second half of the year. Thus, the total target in 2018 alone is to total R$ 12 million invested in up to 20 investment rounds.

“Investment rounds at EqSeed are completed within 9 to 60 days, given our intense focus on the quality of selected companies, and the reputation this generates with our investors. Also, with the approval of the platform by the CVM, interested parties can invest in startups and expanding companies in a safe and reliable way. That's why more and more entrepreneurs, executives, professionals and even corporate investors are building their investment portfolios in startups via EqSeed.”, he concludes.
