Leaders spoke about the impacts of the 20% rate on the sector

Francisco Camargo, president of ABES, along with directors from Brasscom, Assespro and Fenainfo, met with the Secretary of Information Technology of the Ministry of Planning, Development and Management, Marcelo Daniel Pagotti, to present studies on the impacts of social security reencumbrance on the ICT sector.

The directors highlighted that the replacement of the rate of 4.5% levied on gross revenue by a tax of 20% on the payroll, provided for in MP 774/2017, represents a cost shock on companies that will hardly be absorbed by the market, which can generate unemployment, reduce investments in IT and hinder the resumption of economic growth, given that new technologies are vital for all sectors of the economy and for the modernization of public management.

On the occasion, the representatives also reiterated the message of the manifesto signed by the entities on the subject, which can be accessed here🇧🇷 “The recently announced pension reencumbrance is a hard blow to one of the most transversal sectors in the economy, a driver of innovation and productivity, a critical factor for the recovery of Brazil's competitiveness”, warn the associations.
