The companies developed solutions for the management of agribusiness and telemedicine, a personalized live broadcast platform and an online school support service. Launched in 2012, Start-Up Brasil supports 183 Brazilian and international startups.
 
Eight companies selected to participate in Class 4 of the Start-Up Brasil program, by the Ministry of Science, Technology, Innovation and Communications (MCTIC), presented their projects to Brazilian and foreign investors at the Demo Day, held on July 7th, in Rio of January. The companies developed solutions for the management of agribusiness and telemedicine, a personalized live broadcast platform, management of reservations for tables in restaurants and an online support service.

Launched in November 2012, Start-Up Brasil makes public calls to qualify and enable accelerators and for the selection of technology-based start-up companies. The program, which is operationally managed by the Association for the Promotion of Excellence in Brazilian Software (Softex), supports 183 national and international startups, has a network of 18 accelerators in eight Brazilian states and more than 50 public and private partners.
 
Of the 40 companies supported in Class 4, nine work in the health sector; five in Information Technology and telecommunications; four in finance and education; three in agribusiness, logistics and transport; and two in entertainment, media and communication.
 
"Start-Up Brazil has been for some years the main tool of the MCTIC's Information Policy Secretariat (Sepin) to support the digital economy, creating conditions to leverage great ideas. We will continue to make the program a priority, supporting it and always improving it", said the secretary of Sepin, Maximiliano Martinhão.
 
Class 4 of Start-Up Brasil received 639 proposals, 84% national and 16% international. Public investment was R$ 7.7 million. On the other hand, the accelerators invested R$ 1.5 million and more R$ 7.5 million were raised in the market.
