MVisia expands its operations in the agribusiness market

Focused on the development of equipment with a computer vision system, MVisia, startup of Cietec (Center for Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Technology), shows to the market its new electronic calibrator of grape tomatoes. The technology uses complex algorithms that guarantee the standardization of the selected fruits.

The team formed by engineers from the Polytechnic School of the University of São Paulo (Poli-USP) built the machine that analyzes the tomatoes, separating them by size, color and defects. "Using computer vision, we took pictures of each fruit from different angles. Thus, the tomato is evaluated and classified, being grouped according to the desired standards", explains Luiz Otávio Lamardo, one of those responsible for the project.

Sergio Risola, executive director of Cietec, highlights the increase that the MVisia solution brings to the agricultural market. "In a competitive segment such as agriculture, the quality made possible by the startup's equipment satisfies the demands of producers and consumers", says the innovation specialist.

The electronic grape tomato calibrator will be presented to the public at the 22nd Hortitec (Technical Exhibition of Horticulture, Protected Cultivation and Intensive Crops), which takes place from June 17th to 19th, in the city of Holambra (SP). "We are already known in Holambra because of our equipment for selecting seedlings of flowers and ornamental plants", highlights Lamardo. Now the intention is to also be recognized for its activities in horticulture.
