With applications running in various parts of the world, Maker – a solution for companies and entrepreneurs that enables the creation of web and mobile systems – reaches version 3.9. And, from now on, the developed applications can be hosted on the IBM Bluemix cloud platform. The launch of Maker 3.9 will take place on June 7th, starting at 9 am, in the auditorium of the Parque Tecnológico da Bahia (Avenida Paralela). Executives from Softwell, the company responsible for creating Maker, and from IBM will be present, as well as researchers, developers, entrepreneurs and managers in the area of information technology.

Maker 3.9 brings a pioneering interaction with the Bluemix cloud platform, which allows managing applications in the cloud and building solutions that use Watson services. Available in the form of APIs (Application Programming Interface), Watson is the cognitive computing platform that understands natural language, learns and generates insights from various sources of unstructured data, such as text, images, videos and audio. Watson already has several use cases on the market, such as the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, in New York, which uses the system to help decide on cancer treatments, as well as companies that work with Watson for financial analysis, cross-referencing and data checking.

Maker has conquered markets for being a completely visual development environment for enterprise software. With Maker, time is reduced in designing and building software, which also means lower investments. In addition, because it is not necessary to write lines of code, the tool is more accessible, reaching a wide range of developers.
