EMC, a global solutions company that supports companies and service providers in the transformation of their operations to the cloud computing model (IT as a service), announces the beginning of the Brazilian manufacturing of its advanced storage technology, XtremIO. The strategy will allow local customers access to all the benefits of the Basic Production Process (PPB), such as competitive prices, achieved by the possibility of reducing the Industrialized Product Tax (IPI) and greater availability of stock.

According to the president of EMC Brazil, Carlos Cunha, this is the fifth product line with local manufacture initiated by the company. “The importance of the domestic market is evident with the increase we had of 448% in XtremIO sales in the Americas, only in the first quarter of this year, compared to the same period of the previous year, and 483% globally”, says the executive.

The company's expectation is that the manufacture of the solution in the country will influence and increase the search for infrastructure by companies of all sizes, leveraging Brazilian sales in 50%. “This market strategy will make XtremIO represent more than 10% of the total sales volume of traditional storage solutions in the country by 2016”, predicts Luiz Schmitt, sales leader at EMC Brazil and Cone Sul.

Serving several industries, XtremIO has already demonstrated gains of up to 50% in acceleration in SAP databases and processes, in addition to storage space gains of 10x or more than traditional solutions for Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), in national customers of the telecommunications, government, retail, finance and insurance sectors, for example.

XtremIO is a leader in the storage market and, in its version 4.0, just announced during EMC World 2015, it offers high levels of performance, automation and data services capabilities. It is also specifically designed to significantly lower management costs by reducing hours to minutes of the time required to perform common tasks or eliminating them altogether.

Schmitt says that the Brazilian market is experiencing a moment of transition, which began in 2013, towards the transformation of data center technology. “XtremIO represents the company's future in the storage market, as it solves, with the best cost-benefit, the main challenges of customers who demand disruptive technologies”, concludes the executive.
