The program's mission is to bring companies closer to cutting-edge research institutes and centers in Brazil and abroad

The Immersions in Innovation Ecosystems Program has open enrollment for a new stage. The program, carried out through a partnership between the Business Mobilization for Innovation (MEI) and the Brazilian Industrial Research and Innovation Company (Embrapii) – an entity linked to the Ministry of Science, Technology, Innovations and Innovations (MCTIC) –, has the mission to bring companies closer to leading research institutes and centers in Brazil and abroad. Entries are limited and can be done at this link.

In this first edition of 2017, the selected entrepreneurs will get to know the work developed by the Embrapii Units linked to the Senai Innovation Institutes, in addition to other innovation centers of excellence. The visits will take place between the 6th and 10th of March. Participants will visit five Brazilian states: Bahia, Paraná, Rio de Janeiro, Rio Grande do Sul and Santa Catarina, where they will visit Embrapii Units and Senai facilities. The laboratories work in areas such as sustainable and high-performance materials; manufacturing systems optimization; sensing; customization of machines and components to integrate the production process; embedded electronics; additive manufacturing; energy solutions, among others.

For Embrapii's CEO, Jorge Guimarães, the new edition of the program is another step in the strategy of bringing the business sector even closer to Brazilian technology institutes. "Entrepreneurs will be able to get to know in loco what is being produced in the country in terms of innovation and assess how this knowledge can help in the competitiveness of their businesses. They will talk directly with the researchers and our professionals, who will be available to guide them on how to participate in the news in business innovation", he said.

Results of

Since the program was launched in 2016, three immersions have been carried out in the United States, Germany and Brazil. The activities brought together 41 organizations, 68 executives and provided access to 23 research, development and innovation (RD&I) centers that have been working on frontier projects. Among the results already mapped, partnerships in negotiation between companies and research centers, portfolio review and governance for innovation of participating companies and review of the undergraduate and graduate curriculum of a university that was part of one of the delegations stand out.

Embrapii is a social organization supervised by the Ministry of Science, Technology, Innovations and Communications (MCTIC). The Business Mobilization for Innovation is coordinated by the National Confederation of Industry (CNI).
