Registration is open for individual microentrepreneurs (MEI), microenterprises (ME) and small businesses (EPP) interested in advancing the development of products in the process of validation in the market.

Small businesses can register for the call for innovation projects until November 12. The initiative is the result of a partnership between the Brazilian Industrial Innovation Company (Embrapii) and the Brazilian Micro and Small Business Support Service (Sebrae). The goal is to streamline and expand access to non-reimbursable resources, allowing small businesses to use the infrastructure and scientific and technological knowledge of Embrapii's 93 Units. Registration can be done on here.

The call is aimed at projects in an advanced stage of technological maturity, focusing on the development of software-based products whose technology has already been developed and validated in a laboratory or controlled environment in previous stages. The resources from Embrapii and Sebrae will be managed by the Embrapii Units, without direct financial transfer to the companies. The financial contribution of the participating companies will be negotiated on a case-by-case basis with the Embrapii Unit responsible for executing the project.

The call for innovation projects offers a series of advantages for micro and small businesses, such as:

  • Access to excellent institutions and teams, available at all stages of the project;
  • Agile and flexible cooperation model for the development of Research, Development and Innovation (RD&I) projects;
  • Continuous flow of resources, eliminating the need to wait for calls for proposals to be opened;
  • Possibility of continuing the proposal with increased complexity, cost reduction and mitigation of risks involved in the development of innovation
