R$ will be 52 million investments for RD&I projects

 

The Brazilian Industrial Research and Innovation Company (EMBRAPII) increased the number of partner institutions and announced four new IF EMBRAPII Poles and five new Units, linked to the Senai Innovation Institutes. Together, the nine new Units and Poles will provide the expansion of new RD&I projects, through partnerships with companies and in regions where EMBRAPII did not operate, such as Rio Verde (GO) and Três Lagoas (MS).
 
Another highlight is the realization of projects related to topics related to Agroindustrial Technology and Coffee Agroindustry and the selection of Institutions located in places with high technological density, such as Florianópolis (SC). Investments for action plans amount to R$ 149 million, with R$ 52 million from EMBRAPII resources.
 
The announcement was made by the Minister of Science, Technology, Innovations and Communications (MCTIC), Gilberto Kassab, and the Minister of Education (MEC), Mendonça Filho, on September 6, in a press conference held at the headquarters of the Ministry of Education, in Brasilia.
 
For these Public Calls, 18 proposals were received. With this selection, EMBRAPII reaches 42 Units and Poles able to develop innovation projects in partnership with companies. Since its foundation, 281 projects have been closed, with a total value of R$ 473 million.
 
"This new accreditation of Poles and Units, in addition to being another goal achieved in our strategic planning, shows an overview of the scientific intellectual capacity of Brazilian professionals. In several parts of Brazil we have scientific institutions with expertise to meet industrial demands and what This is what we want. To bring them closer to our business model, through accreditation, making possible the union between universities and the productive sector", evaluates the CEO of EMBRAPII, Jorge Guimarães.
 
The new accredited Hubs, linked to the Federal Institutes of Education, Science and Technology, are: IF Santa Catarina Hub (Intelligent Energy Systems), IF João Pessoa Hub (Manufacturing Systems), IF Sul de Minas Hub (Coffee Agroindustry) and Polo IF Goiano (Agroindustrial Technologies).
 
The Units linked to the Senai Innovation Institutes selected are the following: Senai Belo Horizonte Unit (Steel and Special Alloys), Senai Três Lagoas Unit (Biomass Transformation), Senai Curitiba Unit (Industrial Electrochemistry), Senai Florianópolis Unit (Shipping Systems) and Senai São Leopoldo Unit – RS (Integrated Solutions in Metal Mechanics).
