Presence, a company that develops software and ERP systems for retail, has just launched a new package of solutions for retailers, which will improve efficiency in managing stores, franchises, inventories and other demands in the sector. The project was developed entirely with the latest innovations added to current versions of Delphi, Embarcadero's development tool, which made it possible to expand the solutions to all the main market platforms, devices and operating systems, incorporating mobility and IoT concepts, with time and resources.
“The initial objective was to modernize Elbrus, our portfolio management system for store management. To modernize it, Presence had to migrate six million lines of code written in Delphi XE2 to the current version of Delphi. We had Embarcadero's support in cross-platform writing, through a technical team that guided us on programming concepts aimed at mobile applications that were important for the project”, explains Paulo Sérgio Palmério, president of Presence. In just 4 months, companies designed and built new applications, innovated and added features, which give even more autonomy and control to shopkeepers.
The following products/modules were born from this development process: Presence Domain – Complete ERP for the management of companies of different sizes and segments; The Presence Store – modern store front with all tax obligations; it's the presence eye – intelligent dashboard for business management, which presents performance indicators, such as sales by store, day, hour, comparative charts and much more. All are cross-platform apps, running on Windows, Adroid, iOS. Today, Presence Domain and Presence Store are already in more than 500 points of sale, replacing previous versions of the ERP system.
Application with RFID
The big news is the Presence Count, an application that uses the RFID system and that allows quick reading of tags via Bluetooth, drastically reducing the time and effort spent on inventory counting/inventory launch. “A store usually has 3,000 to 6,000 pieces in stock. To launch an inventory, it normally takes about 5 hours. How Presence Count, this time drops to 12 minutes and the information can be sent directly to the head office”, reveals the president of Presence.
This system module already has a pilot project running in the Piticas network of stores and kiosks. This application can be integrated with other ERPs. “The app was completely built in Delphi, with outputs for iOS, Android and Desktop and a very low cost to develop the technology. In addition, we were able to complete a job in just two months that, without a RAD, multilingual and multi-device environment, would have taken a year”, reveals the CEO of Presence.
Presence's ERP system now has four independent products/modules, with a modern visual interface, following the touch/mobile line, precise clicks, Windows 10 concepts, expanded analytical capabilities, messaging interface, online locators and many others resources.
