Technology-based startup projects will also be funded
The main novelty this year is an effort to strengthen industrial production chains. Institutions may present challenges (problems and opportunities for improvement) that must be solved with new products and processes. The public notice will bring these institutions closer to other companies that are interested in developing innovative solutions.
“Our objective is to connect nascent companies to large industries and, thus, strengthen industrial productive chairs in the field of innovation”, says SENAI's director general, Rafael Lucchesi.
Projects will be selected based on criteria such as innovation potential, the value applied in return for the investment in the public notice and the potential for commercialization of the product or process. Another novelty this year is the support that the Network of International Business Centers, coordinated by the National Confederation of Industry (CNI), will offer to selected projects. The CIN Network will identify the export potential of each project and provide guidance to those responsible.
Since the first edition, in 2004, until 2015, the Innovation Notice has already received 5,450 proposals. In all, 686 projects were approved.
