The selection is for startups that solve the challenges of large companies

The Public Notice for Innovation for Industry has open enrollment for the selection of startups, micro and small companies that solve challenges launched by large industries. Two calls seek solutions to challenges in the areas of rural energy, intelligence for the pharmaceutical industry, technologies for civil construction and management for building air conditioning systems. The resources that will be invested in the selected projects total R$ 4.65 million. Interested parties can submit projects on the website of the Innovation Notice.

The challenges were launched in category C of the Public Notice – Industrial Entrepreneurship, which seeks to stimulate the connection between large industries and startups, micro and small companies. Among the solutions presented, the anchor institution will choose which company it wants to work with. The objective is that, at the end of the project, the resulting prototype of the selected project will be the instrument for building trust between large companies and technology-based startups. For the development of ideas, the Public Notice offers support in the form of funding and the structure of 26 SENAI Institutes of Innovation and 58 SENAI Institutes of Technology.

With an application deadline until November 11, the call from Instituto Gyntec, in partnership with four companies from the Midwest and the National Service for Industrial Learning (SENAI), will select eight startups, with projects between R$ 150 thousand and R$ 600 thousand to address the following challenges:

CMC ENERGY CHALLENGE – CMC Energia – a company that works with energy distribution and transmission, overhead and underground transmission networks, substations and rural customers – seeks partners with technical competence in digital technologies for energy management in rural properties. The objectives of the solutions presented should be, among others, to audit monthly energy measurements through the use of resources such as the internet of things (IoT), hardware, software, applications and smart meters, as well as improve energy efficiency, management consumption and internet quality in rural properties.
Entries must also seek energy savings or present solutions for rural solar microgeneration. The benefited companies will be agro-industries, irrigators and bulk warehouses that pay high energy bills. Three projects will be selected, which will receive R$ 150 thousand to be developed.

EQUIPLEX CHALLENGE - A call seeks companies that present intelligent solutions for implementing Industry 4.0 – the connection between the physical and virtual worlds through digital technologies, such as artificial intelligence, internet of things and big data. Projects must use technological resources to solve challenges in the transformation of industrial waste or achieve the stabilization of dipyrone in plastic.
Proposals may also suggest solutions for automatic supply management, self-energy sufficiency and self-sufficient steam generation. Three startups will be selected, which will have R$ 600 thousand for the development of the projects. Equiplex is a pharmaceutical industry that has been active in the production of medicines for over 30 years. The company is going 4.0 and is looking for partners to consolidate the digital path in the supply chain, innovative services and business models.

CONSTRUCTION INNOVATION CHALLENGE - BIM (Building Information Modeling) technology allows you to digitally create virtual models of a building and is considered the main recent innovation in the area. With BIM models it is possible to reduce errors, omissions in projects and waste, with a consequent increase in productivity in the construction process. Innovar Construtora is looking for startups that present solutions for visualizing and managing BIM model data using cloud computing resources, virtual and augmented realities or using drones and BIM to monitor and measure works.
Proposals can also work on the storage, versioning and naming control of files in the cloud, as well as communication and collaboration using intelligent chatbots. The submitted ideas can also propose solutions for extracting quantitative from the BIM model for budgeting and material lists for purchases. Three startups will be selected that will receive R$ 150 thousand for project development. Innovar Construtora works in the development of residential, commercial and urban real estate products and was a pioneer in Goiás in the adoption of BIM.

JOULE ENGINEERING CHALLENGE - There are already hardware and software to read air conditioning systems and diagnostics, but most are generic and superficial. Joule Engenharia – a company that works with installation and maintenance of air conditioning in industries, homes, shopping malls, among others – seeks specific solutions for the management of building air conditioning and ventilation systems. The project should allow monitoring of the entire heating, ventilation and air conditioning system of building plants that require periodic maintenance. It should also provide information such as predictive analytics that anticipate problems. The proposal may, for example, suggest equipment replacement, design and thermal load review, inventory of items in critical systems, etc. Three ideas will be selected in which R$ 150 thousand will be invested.

ENERGY EFFICIENCY – Registrations for the call launched by electricity distributors Coelba (BA), Celpe (PE), Cosern (RN) and Elektro (SP/MS) are also open until November 23rd. Up to five startups with projects focused on energy efficiency will be selected in the Nova Energia challenge. In order to stimulate the connection between distributors and the Brazilian innovative ecosystem, ideas will be selected that seek, for example, to reduce consumption and encourage the rational use of electricity through consumer awareness.
The project may also present solutions that use virtual and augmented reality, online platforms, among other technologies, to disseminate knowledge among students and teachers about the efficient and safe use of electricity. The submitted proposal may also propose technological solutions for the use and management of distributed generation – an expression used to designate electric generation at or near consumers. The selected companies will be able to develop projects with a cost of up to R$ 400 thousand, of which up to R$ 150 thousand will be contributed directly to the startup and up to R$ 250 thousand will be made available in the form of technical hours of specialists and use of infrastructure.

The Innovation Notice for Industry is an initiative of SENAI, the Brazilian Support Service for Micro and Small Enterprises (Sebrae) and the Social Service for Industry (SESI). Since it was created in 2004, it has helped more than 800 companies to be competitive through new products and innovative processes. This month, the Public Notice reached the mark of a thousand innovative projects selected, in which more than R$ 545 million were invested.
