Company announces the expansion of its application security module with new features to detect and protect digital environments against runtime vulnerabilities

Dynatrace, a benchmark in Software Intelligence, announces the expansion of its application security module with new features to detect and protect digital environments, including Java Virtual Machine (JVM), Node.js and .NET CLR, against vulnerabilities at runtime execution. Additionally, Dynatrace has extended its support for applications running in Go, one of the fastest growing programming languages, with a 23% increase in adoption last year.

With these enhancements, the Dynatrace® platform becomes the only solution that provides real-time visibility and vulnerability analysis across the entire application stack, which includes custom code, open-source and third-party libraries, as well as runtimes and orchestrators. run-level containers. Dynatrace not only identifies vulnerabilities in each of these layers automatically, it also analyzes them to provide actionable and accurate responses out of the box. This allows development and security teams to better assess risk, prioritize and remediate threats more efficiently, and innovate faster and more securely.

“We take great pride in being a cloud-native company that leverages agile delivery practices, the latest technologies and has a secure, state-of-the-art software development cycle to bring continuous innovation to our customers,” comments Luca Domenella, Head of Cloud Operations and DevOps at Soldo. “Dynatrace Application Security helps make this possible by providing comprehensive visibility and analytics across all layers of our complex application ecosystem, ensuring that no vulnerability escapes the DevOps cycle. Additionally, this feature helps us instantly understand the risk and impact of vulnerabilities such as Log4Shell and automatically prioritizes the steps needed to resolve them. This saves our teams from wasting weeks evaluating alerts and allows them to resolve new issues quickly while keeping the focus on innovation.”

Language runtimes are a critical layer of the modern application stack, as they ensure that software features are available and run well on any platform, without having to be rewritten or recompiled. By extending its application security module to support runtimes in the most widely adopted programming languages, Dynatrace offers the industry's most comprehensive vulnerability analysis, including all possible entry points into pre-production and production environments.

“The number of entry points attackers use to target applications continues to expand. Vulnerabilities can infiltrate any part of the software supply chain, including open-source or third-party components and even at the run-level of these applications,” says Steve Tack, Senior Vice President of Product Management at Dynatrace. “Traditional approaches cannot accurately reveal vulnerabilities at runtime or analyze their potential exploits and impact. Dynatrace is the only solution that provides AI-assisted prioritization and runtime analytics for the most popular cloud technologies, now including Golang. With these capabilities, DevSecOps teams can focus on remediating the most impactful vulnerabilities. This helps you innovate quickly, confident that all layers of your applications are threat-free.”

These enhancements will be available for the next 90 days. For additional information, visit the Dynatrace blog.
