- Solution complies with the Advanced Electronic Signature (AES) standard in Brazil, issuing a unique Digital Certificate (ICP-RC) for each document processed
- Integration mitigates the risk of fraud in the agreement journey
Docusign announced on June 25, 2025 that its electronic signature solution, Docusign eSignature, will integrate services from Civil Registry Offices into its intelligent agreement management ecosystem to increase transaction security by verifying the identification and authentication of the parties involved in contractual processes.
The solution helps companies, especially in the financial segment, to comply with the requirements of Law 14.063/2020, which creates the Advanced Electronic Signature (AES) modality. The locally developed integration increases security and compliance in the processing of agreements, mitigating the risk of fraud in the signing process.
With this announcement, Docusign highlights its commitment to complying with local legislation and the needs of Brazilian companies, which demand efficient, secure solutions that comply with the law.
“Docusign continues to expand its ecosystem with solutions that address real pain points for our customers, combining seamless experiences with local compliance demands,” said Norbert Otten, Docusign’s Director of Solutions for Latin America. “From a business perspective, the Advanced Electronic Signature for Civil Registry brings agility to organizations’ sales cycle and, in the future, can support audits, litigation or regulatory requirements of Due diligence of companies”.
The solution allows the user to carry out the standard process of preparing and signing a contract. By integrating with the Civil Registry, the user has the option of using a reliable information infrastructure to authenticate involved parties. With this, the system performs biometric and biographic validation of the user in real time.
When the document is signed, the Civil Registry adds an ICP-RC digital certificate, issued specifically for that transaction, as proof of life. This certificate meets the requirements of Law No. 14,063/2020 to be considered an Advanced Electronic Signature, under the terms established by the Office of the Inspector General of the National Council of Justice.
“The electronic system developed by the Civil Registry Offices aims to create an interoperable and reliable platform for biographical data in Brazil. With this unprecedented solution, we are joining forces to promote greater security in the identification of the parties involved in an electronic signature transaction,” said Luis Vendramin, president of the National Civil Registry Operator of Brazil.
The entire process was developed to make the experience as simple and intuitive as possible, avoiding friction and wasted time for the user.
Companies in the financial and real estate segment (obtaining bank, real estate, commercial, industrial, rural credits, among others) are the main beneficiaries of the Advanced Electronic Signature modality. In addition, the modality serves any commercial process that requires an additional layer of verification and security.
