The importance of IT for Brazil was the theme of the meeting

Francisco Camargo and Paulo Milliet Roque, president and vice president of ABES, met this Monday (13th) with the minister of Science and Technology, Innovations and Communications, Gilberto Kassab. “We introduced ABES and talked about the social and economic importance of the entity's 1600 associates, whether in the generation of jobs, technological innovations and participation in the National GDP. We talked, mainly, about the importance of IT for Brazil, about the segment's growth data, even in this period of crisis, and about the high-value jobs generated ”, says Camargo.

The meeting was also attended by Fabio Rua, coordinator of the ABES Regulatory Committee, and representatives of the Federation of Associations of Brazilian Information Technology Companies (Assespro) and the Brazilian Association of Information and Communication Technology Companies (Brasscom).

On the occasion, they handed the Manifesto the Manifesto "The Order and Progress of our Brazil", signed by ABES, Assespro and Brasscom, to the minister, which highlights the importance of the sector for Brazilian economic development. The document had already been handed over to Interim President Michel Temer last week.

“We also talked about the importance of digital certification in Brazil, one of the biggest success cases in the world, the transfer of the National Institute of Information Technology (ITI), the managing body of digital certification in Brazil, from the Civil Office to the MCTI, and the sector's concern for the ministry to maintain the Institute's technical staff ”, adds Roque.
