The director of Innovation and Development at ABES, Jamile Sabatini Marques, PhD, gave a lecture on “Smart, Human and Sustainable Cities” at the Center for Strategic Studies (CEDES) of the Federal Chamber, on 07/02, at 2 pm. She was invited by the Federal Deputy, Angela Amim (PP/SC) and the meeting is part of the parliamentarians' initiatives to debate innovations for public management.
 
In his speech, Jamile emphasized that technology is a means to improve people's quality of life, which locations recently built under the concept of “smart cities”, such as Songdo, in South Korea, in which technological resources prevail, have ignited a debate around this concept. “More than prioritizing technology and operations centers, we need to remember that a municipality must promote well-being, be a good place for us to live, work and have fun. We need to make better and better use of the knowledge, the data we have, to improve urban planning and economic and social development”, he added. 
 
Other guests at the meeting were: Marcos Alberto Fernando Campos, Innovation Director at CMC Industrial e Energia S/A and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Instituto Gyntec; Luiz Fernando Cruvinel, Consultant and Architect specializing in cities; and Eduardo Moreira da Costa, General Director of the international laboratory Labchis.
