ABES brings together companies and professionals to talk about technologies, management and convergences

The “People at Work” event, held by ABES in partnership with GeneXus, on November 9, 2016, in São Paulo, discussed the current dynamics of the ICT sector, which presents constant challenges for software development.

The customers and programmers' search for more flexibility and freedom, the urgency to reduce costs and time and the obligation to develop multiplatform solutions that offer new user interfaces were some of the aspects addressed. On the occasion, GeneXus, AGL Solutions, W5 Solutions and FMX Soluções presented the differentials of their platforms, new tools and applications.

In the lecture "Develop your web, cloud and mobile applications in an agile and unique way”, Gerardo Wisosky, Country Manager at GeneXus, highlighted the speed of technological changes and how the current pace of demands and the diversity of languages has increased the importance of writing software automatically, which helps to speed up the prototyping, testing, maintenance and updating process. “Our platform generates for different languages such as Ruby, Swift and Java for Android, and also generates for different database management systems,” said Wisosky. He also informed that the company offers different extensions and that there is also a marketplace, in which developers can offer free or paid tools.

Towers: possibility of integrating solutions

Alexandre Torres, director of AGL Solutions, addressed the topic “Connecting your application to SAP and SAP HANA”, in which he addressed the GeneXus ERP Connector, which allows the integration of developed solutions to SAP systems, and the provision of an automated process, which allows executing the deploy (implementation) of any application developed in GeneXus for the HCP (HANA Cloud Platform) environment.“For the GeneXus developer community, connectivity between the software makes it possible to expand the offer of their products to the SAP community, without necessarily becoming SAP specialists . For customers, SAP or not, it is the opportunity to deliver projects with modern technology, with reduced deadlines and costs, using a product approved by SAP itself”, he explained.

“Simplifying Creating Information Dashboards” was the theme of the presentation by Marcos Abellon, from W5 Solutions, who spoke about the TDA tool, developed with GeneXus. TDA enables integration with several databases, facilitates the management of KPIs (performance indicators) and the customization of dashboards, according to the company's needs, both for managerial and operational levels. “There are some myths around Business Intelligence, which say that BI tools are expensive and complex. With our solution, we help to break these myths, as TDA reads different databases, generates dashboards and charts of different types, making it easier to visualize data, manage and achieve goals, in a personalized way, that is, according to with the needs of each client”, he pointed out.

Marcela Visquete presented the SCRUM tool

Marcela Visquete, director of FMX Soluções, solution partner of GeneXus three years ago, officially launched the tool at the event “SCRUM – Agile Project Management System”, that allows companies and developers to gain productivity and improve project management processes. “SCRUM is an iterative and incremental process that helps control processes to optimize the different steps and minimize risks. It has been widely used in software development projects and has gained more supporters in other sectors as well”, commented Visquete. With the system, it is easier to visualize the roles and persons responsible, the tasks in progress, make retrospectives and reviews. “The tool allows the planning of sprints and the respective team, in addition to all the follow-up of deliveries and the automatic generation of the chart burndown, which gives visibility to the pace of work and the progress of the project. Our SCRUM solution – Agile Project Management System brings all the facilities to guarantee the pillars of transparency, inspection and adaptation”, concluded Visquete.

Ana Facin: "This type of meeting is fundamental"

Maicon Ting, analyst/developer at Softing Automação, considered the event to be very relevant, as it allowed him to learn about new technologies and offer different views of the market. Ana Facin, master in engineering and member of a Technology Management Group at POLI/USP, congratulated ABES and highlighted that this type of meeting is fundamental, as it creates opportunities for companies to exchange knowledge and establish partnerships.
