The National Transport Confederation (CNT) and BMG UpTech completed the selection process for startups that will participate in Phase 3 of Conecta, a program to boost startups. Among the more than 400 registered at the beginning of the year, 25 were in the second stage. Now five have been selected to receive new investments and a month-long acceleration at the headquarters of Plug and Play, an important accelerator in Silicon Valley (USA). They are: Arbache Innovations, ByeBnk, dLieve Tecnologia, Everlog and Trackage, in an announcement made on 10/21. Another novelty was the news of two extra spots for startups Biosolvit and Órbita Tecnologia, which will have the opportunity to join the five selected for the trip to Silicon Valley, between November 14 and December 14.

The Conecta program was created with the aim of supporting startups that develop solutions capable of contributing to the increase in the transport activity, providing them with potential commercial connections with relevant players in the segment. “We carried out one of the largest acceleration and investment programs in startups in Latin America, which managed to attract many companies. The participants have an excellent performance. They are geared towards the transport sector and provide services for all modes”, says the director for International Affairs at CNT, Harley Andrade. He informs that the evaluation was based on aspects such as solidity, profitability, management and contribution to the sector.

The CEO of BMG UpTech, Rodolfo Santos, reinforces the high level of the solutions presented. “CNT and other transport and logistics companies will be very well served. These startups will certainly do a lot for the entire sector”, he highlights. He also recalls the relevance of the project. “We are very motivated by the interest of companies like CNT in fostering innovation. In Brazil, we do not have a program like the one they devised, both in terms of investment weight and company valuation, not to mention the international phase,” he concludes.

Retrospect

The Conecta program, developed in partnership between CNT and BMG UpTech, was launched in March and had more than 400 subscribers. Of these, 100 startups were selected and subjected to online interviews. About 40 qualified for Phase 1 (one-month traction period, with the first investments).

Then, 25 advanced to Phase 2, which lasted approximately four months. During that time, the companies received new contributions and participated in training at Fundação Dom Cabral (FDC), in Belo Horizonte, and in meetings with entrepreneurs in the transport sector.

The third and final stage of Conecta will be the international acceleration, which will include training, connections with companies and presentations to investors. In addition, each of the five chosen startups will receive one more round of investment, now worth R$ 230,000.
