ABES ACADEMY course on the General Data Protection Law has a new class

THE ABES ACADEMY, ABES 'education and continuing education sector, opened registration for the third class of the course on data protection, privacy and information security in Brazil, which will be held 100% online.

The online course "General Data Protection Law: Fundamentals and Implementation" offers participants an important theoretical knowledge and, mainly, practical information for adapting the organization to the LGPD, highlighting the diagnostic steps, mapping the existing data held by the organization, defining procedures and processes, defining those responsible and governance. The training will be held in 8 classes, from 4 pm to 7 pm, from 7/20 to 7/23 and from 7/27 to 7/30, with a total workload of 24 hours. .

“The date of entry into force of the LGPD is still August 2020, however President Jair Bolsonaro has already sanctioned Law 14.010 / 2020, which postpones until August 1, 2021 the beginning of predicted punishments. Thus, we believe that organizations have a deadline to adapt and direct efforts in order to meet the obligations imposed by the legislation. An important step is the definition of the team that will be responsible for implementing the guidelines and good practices in the collection, treatment and storage of personal information that the law requires ”, points out Thomaz Côrte Real, lawyer and consultant of the legal department of ABES and one of the speakers. .

Second report extracted from the tool “LGPD diagnosis”, developed by ABES in partnership with the consultancy EY, only 38% of the companies that carried out the assessment showed to be in accordance with the requirements made by the new privacy law in the domains: Processes, People and Technology. The diagnosis has been carried out, so far, by almost 900 organizations in the sectors of agribusiness, technology, finance, industry, among other segments, and remains on the air to be answered by interested parties.

Create a data protection culture and avoid sanctions

This ABES ACADEMY course is taught by highly qualified professionals who bring legal, technical and practical knowledge and experience in relation to data protection, privacy and information security. Different administrative sanctions due to infractions committed to the rules are provided for in the Law, such as a fine that can reach up to R$ 50,000,000.00 for infraction, warning, publication of the infraction; blocking of the personal data referred to in the offense until it is regularized; elimination of the personal data referred to in the violation or even the total or partial prohibition of activities related to the processing of data, especially in the event of information leakage (whether due to technical failure, human action or hacker attack).
