Agreement with Zero Impacto provides for recycling bins at chain stores in Brasília

CTIS Digital, from Brasilia, reseller of the biggest technology brands and specialist in IT solutions, in partnership with Zero Impacto, installed ecopoints for electronic waste disposal in two of its stores. The objective is to provide network customers with an easy way to deposit their electronic waste.

All the material collected goes through the screening of the company Zero Impacto, which separates the waste from the waste that can still be reconditioned. Then, the electronic devices are unmanufactured, classified, separated, treated and recycled, returning to the production chain as raw material and saving natural resources.

The recovered IT items are destined for digital inclusion through the Committee for the Democratization of Informatics in the Federal District and Surroundings CDI-DF (http://cdi-df.blogspot.com.br/).

According to the United Nations (UN), each person produces, on average, seven kilos of e-waste per year and by 2017 this number is expected to rise by 33%. In Brasília, where the consumer public has high purchasing power, the turnover of electronic products is high. Data from the Urban Cleaning Service (SLU) indicate that between 400 kg and 500 kg of electronic waste are discarded daily.

Where to discard: Loja CTIS Digital 511 Norte, telephone (61) 3448-9007 and Loja CTIS Digital Shopping Quê!, telephone (61) 3251-9007.
