The Cloud Security Alliance (CSA) this month released an IoT security guidance report. The publication “Future-proofing the Connected World: 13 Steps to Developing Secure IoT Products” aims to help developers, policyholders and service providers better understand the security measures they must incorporate so that their devices are protected from attacks.
 
The report details 13 considerations and guidelines for designing and developing the secure Internet of Things, as well as mitigating security issues. The document also presents the results of a survey carried out by the CSA IoT working group, the security options available for development platforms, the categorization of device types and a review of some threats, recommendations for design and development processes. as well as a detailed checklist for security engineers to follow during development and product examples with the most relevant threats mapped out.
