Salesforce, the world leader in CRM, announces that Metallica is implementing Salesforce solutions to transform your interactions with fans across all digital touchpoints.

Metallica is one of the most acclaimed rock bands in the world, with more than 120 million albums sold and many awards, including nine Grammys and the prestigious Swedish Polar Music Prize. For 37 years the band has been breaking barriers and innovating in the way of interacting with its followers; today there are over 60 million on Facebook, Instagram, Spotify, Twitter and YouTube, making them one of the most "social" bands online. Metallica has partnered with Salesforce to provide even better fan experiences in preparation for the WorldWired tour, which is currently touring North America.

"For me, music is synonymous with connection, of living experiences together", says Lars Ulrich, drummer and co-founder of the band. "We see technology as a way to get closer to our fans. So we're really excited to be working with Salesforce to create a new level of experience. It's going to be really cool."

Metallica is implementing Salesforce Marketing Cloud to get a comprehensive view of fans across email services, mobile platforms, and social media. They will create personalized experiences and content for different fan profiles and deepen relationships with the entire Metallica family. The band also launched a new website on the Salesforce Commerce Cloud, which offers better merchandising tools and features and applies artificial intelligence (AI) to the online store. Online purchases provide exclusive access to carefully selected tickets, content and products for every fan of the band.

"In terms of interacting with fans, there's no better band than Metallica," says Alex Dayon, president and CSO of Salesforce. "With more than 60 million social media followers and millions of concert tickets sold this year, the band is coming up with new ways to deliver unique experiences across all channels. Salesforce is proud to accompany them on this journey."
