The open platform dojot, developed by CPqD with the aim of accelerating the creation of Internet of Things (IoT) applications, has gained a new version, called Aikido. “The development of dojot continues, focusing on the demands of the market and the ecosystem aimed at offering IoT solutions”, says Maurício Casotti, dojot's marketing manager at CPqD. “In this sense, the Aikido version reinforces the three pillars that guided the creation of this platform: ease of use, rapid application development and security in deployment”, he adds.

A more intuitive user interface and a view of the devices' distribution on a map are some of the new features that, according to Casotti, make the Aikido dojot even easier to use. In addition, it highlights the real-time display data update, the platform's alarm view and the possibility of integration with CPqD Billing, to facilitate billing in complex business models within the IoT ecosystem.

Functionalities such as device template management, firmware updates and support for operating on devices (for configuring and sending commands from the platform) are features that make the new version of dojot even faster to develop IoT applications. “In this regard, an important functionality is the function as a service (FaaS), which allows using dojot to make functions created outside of it available to the entire IoT ecosystem,” says Casotti.

Regarding the security to be implemented, he highlights as novelties the support for authentication on the platform of both the application and the device, through the use of a secure channel and encryption resources. Furthermore, Casotti claims that a new context broker has been incorporated into the Aikido dojot, which makes the solution more flexible, scalable and robust.

The launch of the new version is part of CPqD's strategy to support the evolution and constant improvement of the dojot platform, which focuses on encouraging open innovation and building an ecosystem aimed at offering IoT solutions suited to the Brazilian reality. . dojot Aikido is now available on the portal www.dojot.com.br, through which interested parties can obtain its code and also the documentation on how to use the components, the interface, etc.
