Term signed with City Hall refers to the implementation of a protocol for business activities in technology

ABES - Brazilian Association of Software Companies, together with other entities in the sector of information technology, telecommunications and call center, signed today (06/27) the term of commitment referring to the implementation of a protocol that will guide the resumption of the activities of this segment in the city of São Paulo (SP).

The ceremony took place at the Municipality of São Paulo, with the presence of the Municipal Mayor, Bruno Covas; the Municipal Secretary of the Civil House, Orlando Lindório de Faria; the Municipal Secretary of Labor and Entrepreneurship, Aline Cardoso; the Mayor of the City Council, Eduardo Tuma; and Councilor Daniel Annenberg. The protocol establishes the rules for social detachment, hygiene and sanitation, communication regarding orientation to customers and employees, collaboration with the testing effort, alternative schedules for attending the public and selective return to work.

The term considers that the abrupt and careless resumption of activities may represent a setback in the process of easing restrictive measures, causing serious damage to health and the economy. “We are committed to helping the city of São Paulo to return to activities with all the care and attention that this sensitive period needs. Therefore, we are adopting health protocols that will help to prevent and contain the spread of the pandemic while the activities of the IT sector are resumed gradually and carefully in the capital, summarizes Rodolfo Fücher, president of ABES.

In addition to establishing in law the rules of social distance of 1.5m in the work environment, use of physical barriers between stations, encouragement to telework and cleaning of the environments, this term provides for periodic training and guidance to employees as to the symptoms of Covid- 19, hygiene and mandatory use of masks.

The companies also pledged to decrease by 80% the number of clients in the office while the city is classified in orange under the São Paulo Plan; in 60% if it is in the yellow classification; and 40% if it is in the green classification. And the opening hours will be differentiated so that the peak hours of public transport are avoided.

In addition, employees belonging to the risk group, who have had symptoms or contact with infected or suspected patients with COVID-19 in the last 7 days, should not resume face-to-face activities; or who have children who, in order to carry out the work, depend on the functioning of daycare centers or schools that have not yet resumed their activities.

The term of validity of the signed commitment term is the period of the State of Public Calamity in the city of São Paulo due to the coronavirus pandemic, not exceeding twelve months from the date of its signature.

The complete protocol and a booklet developed by ABES based on these guidelines are available on this link, which will be made available to members.
