Andre De Castro, CEO and founder of Blockchain of Things Inc., is the keynote speaker at the ABES Software Conference, which takes place on September 18, 2017, at the WTC, in São Paulo. Technology executive, software developer, researcher, cryptography and finance specialist, he has been actively involved in the bitcoin crypto industry since its inception in 2010. He comes to Brazil to highlight advances in the use of blockchain and how it technology can solve the most critical problems of the IoT ecosystem in order to maximize the business value and benefits of IoT, with security and interoperability.
De Castro believes that the use of blockchain goes far beyond applications in the financial world and that this peer-to-peer technology will be fundamental to deter threats from hacker attacks on legacy systems and cloud computing implementations, providing compliance and governance. for autonomous systems, creating controls for the vast number of connected and decentralized devices that we will have in the world in the coming years, among other applications.
An enthusiastic speaker at international financial technology events, De Castro holds two US patents that simplify the installation of electronics in automotive circuits. He graduated with honors from the State University of New York at Stony Brook where he majored in Computer Science with a concentration in artificial intelligence, data mining and operating systems. He won the 2014 Blockchain Technology Hackathon, sponsored by Grand Central Ventures and Bitcoin Center NYC, and developed the Blockchain of Things Catenis, the first network of blockchain-enabled devices to solve the challenges of IoT and the Industrial Internet. Representing the biometrics and finance industry, he was a Member of the Financial Services Board of Directors in Washington DC (USA) until 2014. He helped advise major banks and influence government policies regarding biometric security in the financial space.
