Action was launched by Movimento Brasil, País Digital

Brazilians and companies are adopting the digitization of processes, communication and business models. It is the digital transformation that continues in progress and with no return. “In tech parlance, we like to be early adopters: install apps, buy new devices, test new technologies. And, unfortunately, we continue without much care or concern about the risks”, evaluates Andriei Gutierrez, Manager of Government Relations and Regulatory Affairs at IBM and coordinator of the Movimento Brasil, País Digital, an initiative of ABES – Brazilian Association of Software Companies, with support from various organizations.

Therefore, the movement launched the educational campaign “Security and Citizenship in the Digital World, given the need to form the digital citizen, providing knowledge about the risks on the web and social networks and informing about ways to use the network in a safer and more responsible way. The activities involve the wide dissemination of educational content on the website, on the Facebook page and on the twitter profile of Brazil, País Digital.

“We believe in the potential of education and sharing quality content. Brasil, País Digital will be a space for sharing information about cyber threats and tips on good security practices and browsing the web”, completes Gutierrez.

Information on the main cyber threats and crimes, guidance on the benefits of protecting your smartphone (installing an antivirus or firewall, for example), on the care of smart equipment installed at home, alerts and tips for parents and guardians to monitor their children's digital presence are some of the aspects addressed in this campaign.

“We have seen an advance in the discussions on the General Law for the Protection of Personal Data, the Digital Transformation Strategy for Brazil, the National Plan for the Internet of Things and a series of other measures by the government to create the beacons of the Brazilian digital society. These are great actions, but we also have to guide people in their daily lives”, he concludes.

Currently, the Brasil, País Digital movement has the following institutional partners: ABIIS (Brazilian Alliance of the Innovative Health Industry),  ABRANET (Brazilian Internet Association), Assespro (Association of Information Technology Companies),  Brasscom (Brazilian Association of Information and Communication Technology Companies),  BSA  - The Software Aliance,  CNI - National Industry Council, FENAINFO (National Federation of Computer Companies),  Brazilian Institute of Digital Law,    ITI Decodes (Information Technology Industry Council) and IAB Brazil (Interactive Advertising Bureau).
