What is the role of IT and Business leaders in the face of new cybersecurity challenges? This and many other questions will be answered during the Gartner Security and Risk Management 2019 Conference, which takes place on August 13 and 14 in São Paulo. At the event, analysts from Gartner, Inc., the world leader in research and advice for enterprises, will present insights and news about security and how technology and business executives can prepare for the future of their operations.

“Today, cyber risks are one of the three biggest inhibitors to the progress of digital business initiatives around the world. This scenario requires IT and business leaders to discover and develop new skills to meet cybersecurity and resilience requirements within organizations. These are the points that we will address in these two days of activity in São Paulo”, explains Augusto Barros, Chairman of the Conference and Vice President of Research at Gartner.

Divided into four content strands (Leadership and Strategy; Trends and Competencies; Risk Management and Resilience; and Architecture and Operations), the Conference will discuss the main trends and demands in the area of security, privacy and risk management. During the program, the public will have access to presentations by Gartner analysts, workshops, success stories and opportunities to exchange experiences.

Expecting to bring together more than 700 experts, the event will present the digital security scenario in dozens of panels and will indicate how leaders can advance their protection strategies in an era marked by the expansion of Cloud solutions, shortage of qualified professionals and major challenges. of compliance. “In all, more than 30 new researches and exclusive analyzes will be presented on the most important and relevant subjects”, says Barros.

According to Gartner research, 95% of data leaders believe that cybersecurity threats will increase and impact the day to day of different parts and processes of an organization. “We are at a time when it is necessary to establish new standards of leadership and communication to change the organizational mindset with regard to the protection of information and innovation”, explains Barros, emphasizing that the objective of the Conference is to present insights and data that stimulate the improvement of managers from different areas in relation to safety.

One of the highlights of this year's event is the CISO Circle, created exclusively for Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs), Chief Risk Officers (CROs) and executives with decision-making power in the areas of security and risk within organizations. The goal is to provide a differentiated experience through unique and relevant sessions by allowing access to business-relevant content.

During the Conference, attendees who want specific recommendations for their company's challenges will be able to schedule private meetings with Gartner analysts. In these meetings, participating executives will receive tips on how to prepare their businesses to assertively incorporate technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Analytics.
