About 60% of entrepreneurs in the construction sector have plans to invest in technological innovations and a specialist suggests some practices to optimize the construction site.

Mobile devices are already fundamental in the daily routine of many businesses. Today they are also a reality in the construction sector within construction sites. Professionals in the area, such as directors, managers and engineers, have benefited from technology to manage and obtain better results, avoid waste and increase the productivity of work teams.

The new tools, systems and equipment make it possible to work more efficiently, making the administrative part and the work work in harmony, controlling management from start to finish.

According to a survey carried out by the Union of Civil Construction Industries of the state of São Paulo (SP), Sinduscon - SP, in partnership with Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV), found that about 60% of entrepreneurs in the construction sector have plans to invest in technology. For those who are in this environment and want to invest in technological improvements to achieve efficiency, it is necessary to know some essential practices to increase productivity in the field of civil construction.

The product director at Teclógica, an IT and business company from Blumenau (SC), Adriana Bombassaro, suggests five ways in which technology can transform the productivity of projects and improve the execution of stages.

1. Make a shared plan

To start a work, it is necessary to plan every detail in order to avoid unpleasant surprises, such as problems with labor, lack of products, deadlines, among others. All this management involves budgeting, analysis, perspectives, programming, financial control, contracting suppliers and managing the work.

For this phase, there are technological solutions that allow the creation and sharing of projects in a collaborative way. The innovations in the area make it possible to record interactions and reviews of a project, for example, in order to facilitate decision-making, changes in workflows and delivery deadlines.

Adriana also comments that, by allowing the integration of the professionals involved in this phase, technology helps to reduce design errors and the need for rework.

 2. Bet on the use of software and technologies in all phases of the work

Innovation is the basis for the growth of any business, and the construction sector is no different.

The use of software in the area is not limited to application in projects, currently there are numerous options for different areas of the sector. For example, Mobuss Construção is an exclusive and complete solution for the sector, specially designed to offer more efficiency in the management of all stages of the construction process, with modules that allow, in addition to project management, daily notes, records, security , quality, inspection, technical assistance, among others.

 3. More efficient communication

The lack of communication can generate several problems capable of delaying or even paralyzing a work. There are several tools that can be used for improvement, such as specific monitoring and reporting applications.

R. Franco Engenharia, a company specialized in construction and renovation of industrial and commercial works, for example, adopted a mobility system for the segment. With access via mobile device, the solution allows the recording of activities at the construction site itself, without the need for a web connection.

In addition to more effective control, the use of the system reduced the use of paper in the works to zero. The company also recorded positive results in the organization of data, standardization of processes for effective control, increasing the quality of the final product, which can be delivered with reduced time in the execution of some tasks.

4. Organize your time

In civil construction, processes are previously established, however, one of the major problems faced is the lack of organization, which causes a lot of time to be lost in activities that are often unnecessary.

For this reason, it is necessary to organize the processes, defining deadlines for the execution of each stage, closely monitoring some activities. In addition to saving time, the number of errors and wasted materials will also be less.

With the aim of achieving greater success, CCM Construtora Centro Minas, a company that provides building and renovation services in the civil construction sector, has reduced the waste of time and materials by using a system with annotation and quality modules. With the practicality and agility offered by the solution, it was possible to visualize and solve day-to-day problems more efficiently.

A checklist on the tablet is also used by the construction company, which was thus able to obtain more speed in decision-making and improved the final quality of services.

5. Information management

Having a system that makes electronic notes is a fundamental part of the process. Management facilitates access to information on the number of hours worked, production of equipment and labor. Thus, it is possible to have greater control, reduce costs and increase productivity.

With the right tool, it is possible to identify and quantify the activities carried out, control the production process, analyze the cost of labor, evaluate the performance of the work, analyze efficiency in the use of equipment, improve the use of resources, among other advantages.
