Through the AWS re/start program, Escola da Nuvem provided talent to join In2Clouds, a digital transformation company that recently arrived in Brazil

The technology market continues to boom in Brazil. According to the study Brazilian Software Market – Panorama and Trends 2024, by ABES (Brazilian Association of Software Companies), Brazil invested almost U$50 billion in IT last year. In addition, cloud is the second most demanded technical skill in the IT sector today, according to a report by Robert Half, and the Data Engineering profession is the second most sought after. Even so, the market faces a difficulty: there is a lack of talent and, more than that, qualified talent – 48% of HR leaders perceive the skills shortage as one of the main threats to business, according to the study Workforce 2.0 – Unlocking human potential in a technology-driven world, by Mercer.

With the goal of reducing this gap and transforming the technology market into a more prosperous and diverse environment, Escola da Nuvem and Amazon Web Services (AWS) have joined forces to connect people to real job openings in Brazil: through AWS re/start, a free workforce training and development program that helps unemployed or underemployed people develop cloud computing skills and connects them to job opportunities, students certified by the program have landed their first job in cloud computing by joining In2Clouds, a digital transformation company present in Latin America, the United States, Spain, the Caribbean and Central America that is now coming to Brazil. So far, three professionals trained by Escola da Nuvem are already working at the company and others are in the selection process.

“At the end of last year, we started working on an account in Brazil remotely, from Costa Rica. Looking at the [technological] opportunity that the country has, we decided to set up a branch here and in April we opened a CNPJ. We wanted to hire people, so we contacted AWS, with whom we have a very good partnership, and they recommended Escola da Nuvem to us. Based on the students who graduated from AWS re/start, we assembled a local team”, explains Luis Jimenez, Commercial Director of In2Clouds in Brazil.

For Escola da Nuvem, this is a significant partnership, as it allows us to support professionals and companies that are growing, opening up more and more opportunities for access to employment, professional development, results and income generation, positively impacting individuals, companies and society in general. “In2Clouds has proven to be a genuine partner, maintaining a constant relationship, always considering the professionals present in Escola da Nuvem's talent pool for its selection processes, even hiring a candidate who graduated from one of our exclusive classes for migrants. When a company is willing to give a chance to professionals with potential, but who have not yet had access to these opportunities, we open up space to generate social mobility, allowing people to have stable work and a career that will provide better living conditions, generating a great virtuous cycle, not only in their lives, but in their entire environment, which becomes more diverse and inclusive”, comments Anabel Filardi, Supported Employment Analyst at Escola da Nuvem and specialist in Diversity and Inclusion.

“AWS, together with its customers and partners, works to help ensure there is talent in Brazil to meet the growing demand for cloud computing professionals,” he says. Fabio Filho, Head of Training and Certification at AWS Brazil. “Together with Escola da Nuvem, we have already trained thousands of students with free online and in-person training courses aimed at vulnerable people and underrepresented groups in the technology market throughout Brazil.”

“Through Escola da Nuvem, I was recommended for the position of Developer and Technical Consultant at In2Clouds and I got this opportunity. I am proficient in two other languages, including Spanish, which is very important for us here at the company. One really cool thing about Escola da Nuvem is that it keeps us connected with the employability sector and finds opportunities that are well-suited to our characteristics and profile,” says Gabriel, 29, who got an opportunity at In2Clouds.

For Ana Letícia Lucca, CRO of Escola da Nuvem, “partnerships like this are not only opportunities for students to enter the job market, but a milestone of transformation. Each open door means a chance to break cycles of vulnerability and build a fairer and more inclusive future. Collaboration between companies committed to diversity and institutions like ours is the path to a technology market that is truly accessible to all. We are ready for new partnerships that share this purpose: not only to fill vacancies, but to transform lives, and, with that, the world.”
