CloudCampus, a cloud training center with 4,500 connected students in courses on networks and data centers, has just completed a salary survey involving some of the top positions in this area. The survey involved around 300 questionnaires, answered by client companies and professionals who take specialization or certification courses at CloudCampus.
According to the survey, the remuneration of an IT Director (or CIO) varies greatly according to the size or complexity of the company, reaching R$ 55 thousand in the case of large operating environments, such as a data center financial or telecoms, or below R$ 10K, in mid-sized companies where IT is not at the core of the business.
The variation also happens according to the region or the size of the municipality. Considering the cities of São Paulo, Rio, Brasília, Curitiba, Salvador, Maceió, Recife and the interior of São Paulo, the average remuneration, excluding extreme values up or down from the CIO, is at R$ 17, 5 thousand, for professionals with more than five years in the market, and R$ 14 thousand reais, for directors with less experience. In turn, in Brazil, the remuneration of IT managers varies from a minimum of R$ 6,000 to a maximum of R$ 17,500 in Brazil, of which R$ 8,000 is the regular remuneration of junior managers and R$ 11,500 for Seniors.
According to José Carlos Vitorino, director of CloudCampus, the objective of the survey is to provide the training center students with information of interest to their careers and assess the impact of technical certifications on the salary expectation of IT professionals. "This survey showed that a professional with certification from market leaders such as Cisco or Oracle achieve, on average, a remuneration 30% higher than the others", says the executive.
