Aquece mercado de softwares para agronegócio no Brasil

With more than 500 applications available, the software market for the most different agribusiness activities is booming in Brazil. Most developers (96%) are medium, small and micro companies with a good commercial distribution system in the country, reveals engineer Vanda Scartezini based on a study by the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (Embrapa).

Between 2012 and 2013, there was an increase of 47.3% in the use of 'agro-applications', according to research by the Brazilian Association of Software Companies (ABES). Another characteristic of the programs offered in Brazil is that they are not exclusively aimed at large properties, but can be applied to family farming or cooperatives.

“IT solutions, although not a substitute for business knowledge, allow controls with a great financial impact, such as the optimized consumption of fertilizers to minimize the costs resulting from the rise in oil prices, or cattle traceability requirements, for example, indispensable for access to certain markets”, explains Vanda Scartezini to the website of the National Agricultural Society (SNA).
