Initiative allowed updating and implementation of new applications, bringing efficiency to all BRF units

BRF is one of the largest food companies in the world, with products present in more than 140 countries. There are 50 productive plants, 30 of them in Brazil. And for all of them to be integrated, BRF migrated its systems to the cloud and implemented the use of Citrix Cloud in 2018.

The platform was chosen because it offers the same user experience to all users, with agility in the exchange of equipment and data security. “As Citrix is used mostly by our employees in factories and distribution centers, having this facility to change equipment with the same experience anywhere is essential”, explains Ismar Junior, senior IT analyst at BRF.

With Citrix, the BRF Information Technology team was able to save on infrastructure costs due to the centralized and automatic update anywhere in the world. Another economy is the network for the units, since the platform uses little bandwidth in their daily lives. “Citrix Cloud brought flexibility and scalability to operations, as in addition to the legacy migration, new applications were made available, bringing rapid and real-time updates to all users,” says Geraldo Costa, Citrix's main corporate account manager.

Access to applications and data is offered quickly and securely to employees, without the presence of the support team. “There are 12 thousand licenses available, accessible anywhere in the world. The user experience is unique on any device and location, contributing to productivity ”, explains Andre Mainardes, IT coordinator at BRF.

With the project, BRF also had a decrease in complaints and calls for support regarding dropped connections. The greater availability of the system was essential to increase the productivity of the users, due to the update and improvement of the Citrix Technology.

For BRF this is a path of no return, as more than 70% of the company's IT environment is in the Cloud. “We are going to close this stage with all units operating in the cloud and Citrix's engagement was essential to the achievement of this goal”, says Junior.
