Cisco do Brasil signed a strategic collaboration agreement with Hospital Alemão Oswaldo Cruz, located in São Paulo, aiming at the implementation of digital solutions for the healthcare area. The agreement was signed in a videoconference, following the protocols of social distancing recommended by the World Health Organization.

The main highlight of the partnership is the creation of the Cisco Room, an area within the Hospital's Health Education and Innovation Center, located on Av. Paulista, an important economic hub in the country. The room will act as a hub for researching and creating solutions for the healthcare sector using Cisco tools and its ecosystem of partners. Currently, Cisco technology cases are already running (Webex, Webex Board and use of the DX80 device) for demands ranging from collaboration in a multidisciplinary room with remote professionals to patient care via telemedicine.

The partnership also includes the implementation of integrated solutions in telemedicine, joining Cisco and Hospital technologies in order to facilitate remote care to the population, an essential tool during the Covid-19 pandemic, ensuring the safety of patients and medical and care teams . Another activity included in the agreement is a Cybersecurity course aimed at digital solutions in the health area, which will be developed jointly between Cisco and Hospital Alemão Oswaldo Cruz. Finally, Cisco is acting as an advisory arm of the Hospital to guide all the best practices established by the Health and Information Management Systems Society (HIMMS), through a careful analysis of the hospital's technological infrastructure, in accordance with the requirements of the INFRAM (framework created by HIMMS).

“Partnerships like this one are important to stimulate the development of health research projects that can combine technological innovation, safety and quality in favor of the population's health benefit. At a time when the world is experiencing a Covid-19 pandemic, this union of expertise will be of great value in fighting the disease,” says Dr. Gustavo Prado, Innovation and Medical Education manager at Hospital Alemão Oswaldo Cruz.

“This agreement will allow us to bring the most modern digital transformation in healthcare to patients. Especially in times like this, where we are battling a pandemic, remote collaboration, cybersecurity and telemedicine solutions become even more important for doctors and patients,” says Marcelo Silva, Cisco do Brasil sales director.

“Through partnerships with prestigious healthcare institutions such as the Hospital, we want to develop good practices and recommendations for the institution itself, but also share knowledge for the entire sector on how digital technologies integrated into care processes can contribute to the continuous improvement of the patient experience, both in person and in a virtual environment”, highlights Ricardo Santos, Cisco Latin America's healthcare business development manager.
