Free program, which seeks to increase the number of cybersecurity professionals in Brazil, has already trained more than 1,700 students in the last two editions.

The program CyberEducation Cisco Brazil Registration is open for its fourth edition, which will offer 1,500 scholarships for professional courses in digital security. Those interested in starting a career in one of the sectors with a high demand for professionals can apply through the website (access on here) until March 27.

The first stage of the program is the Cisco Brasil CiberEducation Marathon, an online, self-taught 100% journey, which takes place from March 7th to 27th, and includes the course “Fundamentals in Cybersecurity”. Only students who complete the course will be eligible for the second stage, which is the professional training phase offered by Cisco and its partners. There will be 1,500 scholarships for courses that prepare students for a career in cybersecurity, such as the CCNA1 courses, focused on networks, and Network Security, for training cybersecurity analysts. The third and final stage, scheduled from July 2022, is the practical application of knowledge, with internship and employment opportunities offered by Cisco's partner and customer ecosystem.

Created in 2020 as part of the Cisco Brasil Digital Inclusivo initiative, for digital acceleration in the country, and the Cisco Networking Academy, for education and employability, the CiberEducação program aims to develop the new generation of cybersecurity professionals and increase the number of professionals qualified for the job market in the area. According to data from Brasscom, the information security segment is expected to generate more than 29,000 jobs in Brazil by 2025, one of the fastest growing and offering the most new jobs in the country.

“We want to open doors to the job market and allow talent in Information Security in Brazil to have great opportunities to work with the best organizations.” says Gabriel Bello Barros, leader of the Cisco Networking Academy in Brazil.

The CiberEducação program has already trained 1,736 students between 2020 and 2021, and achieved an employability level of 63% among students. The third edition of the program, in progress, has around 3,000 students (1,500 students being trained by Cisco and another 1,500 by the strategic partner Centro Paula Souza). CiberEducação also counts Senai Nacional, the Brazilian Army Communications School and SENAC Minas Gerais among its strategic partners.

An online event will mark the launch of the fourth edition of CiberEducação, on February 23 at 5:00 pm on the Cisco do Brasil channel on Youtube. The event will also celebrate the results of the Cisco Networking Academy program, of which CiberEducação is a part – which impacted 500,000 students in Brazil -, with the presentation of success stories from those who have already taken the free courses offered.
