With the help of Microsoft tools, access time for new partners to the company environment decreased from sixty days to two hours
As part of your digital journey, Cielo is migrating workstations to the cloud and is already benefiting from optimizing the access time for new suppliers to the company's environment. Previously, to enable new partners to work in the company's environment, the area took about 60 days. With the adoption of the Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktops platform, the grant, made remotely, takes up to two hours, as long as the partner has a device with internet access, be it a cell phone, tablet or personal computer.
“In the past, it was necessary to buy and send the equipment to the supplier via carrier, install all the programs and validate the VPN, which took around 60 days to get everything ready for use, a very long period and with a high cost for the company", says Renan Lira, Infrastructure specialist at Cielo.
The company uses the Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) integrated with Service Now to obtain a flow of approvals both for the automated provisioning of the environment for the user and for the availability of the software used individually in a more agile way. In addition to the agility and optimization of processes, Cielo benefits from the security of Microsoft Azure, which guarantees an environment isolated from its local infrastructure and protected against viruses and other threats, such as password attacks and data leaks. built-in Microsoft AzureAD Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) system.
“In addition to the level of security and control we gained by choosing the AVD as the Virtual Desktop infrastructure, we had a substantial improvement in delivery time, as resources can be increased or decreased as we need them. Our choice, in addition to bringing financial efficiency and a quick response to new computational demands, avoids the need to conduct hardware purchase and delivery processes that can take months”, says Leonardo Gomes, Endpoint, Office 365 and AVD coordinator at Cielo.
Cost reduction with migration
With the migration of part of the environments to the cloud, Cielo is also saving with the maintenance of physical datacenters, since the costs with environments on premises they are tall and not very flexible. With a cloud system, the company can increase or decrease its storage capacity according to the needs of its systems, and the upgrade is done quickly. The costs of this operation are managed by the FinOps team, ensuring that the quota is used with full transparency and visibility of all teams involved. According to the Cielo specialist, currently, around 1,000 suppliers are able to use the AVD, but the company's goal is to reach 5,000 by 2023.
“Cost optimization is essential for companies to be able to maintain their business in a challenging economic context and, in the case of Cielo, in addition to this benefit, the company has a significant reduction in the burden of time in its operations and security layers that are native to the cloud and support the cybersecurity journey of the business”, says Júlio Gomes, Vice President of Financial Services at Microsoft Brazil.
