Startups will receive support for business development
Five new incubators and two pre-incubators of MIDI Tecnológico, an incubator managed by the Associação Catarinense de Empresas de Tecnologia (ACATE) and maintained by Sebrae/SC, joined the ACATE Innovation Center (CIA), in Florianópolis (SC), where they will develop solutions for several segments, including education, fashion, industry and sustainability.
Of the seven incubators selected in the September 2014 selection process, five will be MIDI residents (Vaees Sistemas, Plot! Studios, PenSys, Youper and Innovasens) and the other two (Gn Tech and Applique) will go through the virtual incubation process. Plyom and Mobilook were chosen for pre-incubation.
The nascent companies will have specialized consultancy services, approximation with financing sources and relationship networks, management and business improvement programs, in addition to training, membership in ACATE and participation in Business Verticals. Those selected for pre-incubation, a phase in which the project is still being structured, will be able to use the incubator's own coworking space and will receive support for validating the idea, setting up the company, defining the business model, analyzing the technical feasibility and economy and the profile of entrepreneurs.
ACATE's new headquarters has pay per use services and different living areas, with the aim of promoting an environment that favors collaborative business and the rational use of resources. The development is located at km 4 of the SC-401 and has an environment full of shopping and gastronomy options.
The new incubated
Vaees Sistemas – Specialized in systems development and consulting, using the HANA platform. The Vaees Catalog, intended for large companies, is an internal purchasing catalog used by the requesting areas to search for and request the desired items and by the purchasing area to manage the items negotiated with suppliers. The tool is capable of reducing the cost of supplies by up to 10%, by maximizing the consumption of contracts with suppliers (www.vaees.com).
Plot! Studios – Company focused on the development and conception of technologies for transmedia solutions. The new product is an online platform for creating, publishing and selling children's books, in an easy and intuitive way. Accessible through mobile devices and makes it possible to publish books directly to the target audience (www.plotstudios.com).
PenSys – PenSys flagship product is a delta robot for pick-and-place applications with user-friendly installation and configuration features. It presents differential and functionality through the easy-learning system that will favor the quick setup for different applications and production lines, and will allow non-technical people to be able to program their robots without difficulty. The focus is on the food industry.
Gn Tech – Focus on performing and manufacturing genetic tests with an emphasis on pharmacogenetics. It intends to carry out pharmacogenetic, bibliographical and experimental research, for the elaboration of a report to be used in the personalization of medical treatments. The tests can be applied to several medical areas, such as psychiatry, cardiology, oncology, among others (www.gntechtests.com.br).
Youper – It is a digital platform with web and mobile access that helps people to develop new skills, adopt new behaviors and overcome emotional problems. It's a new category of treatment and self-improvement: Digital Self-Improvement.
Innovasens – It intends to develop a multiparametric platform for monitoring gases and environments. For this, an intelligent electronic device will be created that will serve as the basis for multiple solutions. In addition to gases, initially methane, CO2 and ethylene, the system will also support other parameters such as temperature, humidity and luminosity (www.innovasens.com).
Apply – It is a 100% web platform for the production of online courses with autonomy by the companies' HR and Marketing teams. In it, the company's specialist will be able to build his training online, without having to worry or know about graphic design, programming and educational structure. The platform will have tools for interaction, evaluation, collaboration, templates, image bank, image processing, and will not require any installation on the user's machine.
Pre-incubated
Plyom – Tracking System for Indoor Mapping associated with two tools: the Behavior Analysis Tool and the Customer Engagement Tool (www.plyom.com).
Mobilook – Application that uses the barcode on the clothing label to make suggestions for looks with other items from the same brand. It acts as a personal stylist, suggesting other brand pieces to compose a look with the model chosen by the customer.
