Newly launched startup is also behind the first AI model for voice sentiment analysis in Portuguese

The task of transforming audio and video content into texts has just become easier with Celeste AI, Brazilian automated transcription startup based on Artificial Intelligence (AI). In just six months of operation, around 12 thousand people have already registered on the platform, totaling more than 3 thousand hours of transcription carried out by Artificial Intelligence.

Celeste's big difference is that the platform allows the conversion of audio into text with greater efficiency than manual transcription, generating significant savings in time and resources for companies and professionals who need to extract information from voice data. To transcribe, the platform uses advanced Machine Learning (ML) algorithms that process audio in six languages: Portuguese, English, Spanish, German, Italian and French.

Another highlight of the technology is the offer of transcription on demand, allowing users to pay only for the hours they actually need by purchasing credits. For customers with recurring demands, there is the option to select between flexible subscription plans. Furthermore, professionals and companies have the possibility of requesting personalized quotes to meet specific transcription demands.

According to the startup's co-founder, Ana Paula Pereira, Celeste came to meet a great need in the market, using technology to its advantage. “Transcribing is part of the routine of professionals in numerous areas, but this is still a slow and costly task for companies. Celeste was born to solve these challenges and promote AI training in the Brazilian market,” he explains.

Manual transcription — also known as decoupage and engraving — is a task that requires hours of work. According to the startup's estimates, to transcribe a 1-hour recording requires around 3 hours of manual work. “Celeste’s automatic transcription is completed in a few minutes, maintaining accuracy comparable to or greater than manual transcription,” highlights Ana Paula.

AI innovation and leadership

Celeste is the first Brazilian startup 100% dedicated to extracting and analyzing information from voice files. The startup hit the market in July 2023 with the mission of solving real problems for professionals in numerous areas, such as journalists, lawyers, students, researchers and content creators.

In addition to automated transcription, the startup is training the first commercial sentiment analysis model in Portuguese for voice data. The project is in its early stages and is based on Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM), an advanced neural network architecture used in deep learning to better understand the nuances of human language.

In the future, the expectation is that the AI model can classify emotions through acoustic analysis of vocal stress, providing deeper and more personalized insights for applications in mental health, customer service, product development and online monitoring. “The AI market is projected for exponential growth. A Mordor Intelligence report predicts that this sector will achieve a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 31,22% by 2028, underlining the relevance and potential of innovative solutions such as those offered by Celeste”, he concludes.
