TNT, the largest express cargo carrier in Brazil, found in SAS, a leading company in advanced data analysis, the way to improve its operational efficiency, in addition to continuing the excellence of services provided to customers through new statistical techniques. With the acquisition of SAS Visual Analytics, SAS Visual Statistics and SAS Office Analytics tools, the carrier will be able to restructure its Business Intelligence (BI) platform.

According to the Director of Operations and Technology at TNT, Fabiano Fração, the company is based on the use of technology as a competitive advantage and the development of its analytical capacity. Previously, the carrier used its own BI system, sufficient for ongoing demands, but considered inefficient compared to current SAS platforms. “These tools are the key for us to analyze indicators, improve the company's analytical capacity and also achieve operational excellence. With predictive analytics, we can foresee a problem and avoid unpleasant situations that could happen to the customer”, he highlights.

According to the executive, the solutions will enable the use of statistics in a simpler and well-designed way, delivered in a more agile, easy and friendly way. “Since they are self-service tools, the areas should carry out analyzes with less dependence on the IT sector and, consequently, increase the area's efficiency so that it can deliver new diagnoses and work on the company's strategic issues”, he adds. The project began in the Finance area and should be expanded to other sectors by the end of the year.

Fração claims that the great statistical capacity of the SAS was the differential for success in the negotiation. “SAS offers complete analytics solutions and responded to all of our requests to the full. It is a company focused on advanced data analysis, with extensive knowledge of the segment and which keeps its range of BI solutions updated, according to market needs”, he concludes.

The platform will be reachable to all company departments, branches and business units of TNT. Initially, 500 employees will use the solutions. However, as all employees will receive data through this means, indirectly, seven thousand people will be using the same platform.
