The BNDES Card will start to finance custom software development services. The novelty, announced this Monday, 03/26, in São Paulo, by the National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES), also includes the development of corporate websites and virtual stores.

The announcement was made during the inauguration dinner of the new members of the Deliberative Council of the Brazilian Association of Software Companies (ABES) by the head of the BNDES' Products Department, Irecê Kauss, who received, on behalf of the Bank, the commendation of honorary ambassador do Brasil Pais Digital, delivered by the entity to honor professionals, journalists, researchers and authorities who contribute to the development of the Brazilian technology market.

Competitiveness

The card already allowed the purchase of ready-made software, developed in Brazil by professionals residing in the country. With the inclusion of development services as financeable items, the card reinforces support for investments by micro, small and medium-sized companies (MSMEs) in information and communication technologies (ICTs), as a way for these companies to reduce costs and gain operational and competitiveness.

MSMEs will be able to use the card to order various systems and applications, ranging from industrial applications, internet of things (IoT), machine-to-machine (M2M) and similar solutions, to software for mobile platforms. Payment can be made in up to 48 months at an attractive interest rate (1,44% per month in March).

“The financing of software development services by the BNDES Card aims to contribute to the modernization and innovation of management and production processes of smaller companies, through investments in new convergent technologies, such as mobile and cloud computing, social media, big data analytics and the internet of things”, says the head of the BNDES' Internet Operations Department, Ricardo Albano.

As software development and production services, according to ABES, are mostly provided by MSMEs, financing through the BNDES Card will benefit these companies doubly: they can be cardholders to purchase items needed for their activities, as well as being able to become accredited as suppliers to offer their clients the BNDES Card as a form of payment for the services provided.

Companies can request accreditation as a supplier on the BNDES Card website. Just access www.cartaobndes.gov.br, click on “Be an accredited supplier”, fill in the affiliation proposal and assemble the product catalog, including the software development services provided by the company.
